Does Lex Academic provide a confidential service?
Yes. Nobody except for your assigned editor, and our Managing Editor, will know you have used Lex Academic. The editors will not disclose your name to anybody else. If you are happy to leave us a review with your name, then that is absolutely your call; many authors are glad to leave just their initials and institutional affiliation. Otherwise, these details can remain entirely anonymous. You do not need to formally acknowledge Lex Academic in any of your publications: we are proudly your editorial secret weapon.
If you require extra assurance, then we can issue a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). This is a legally binding contract establishing a confidential relationship between yourself and Lex Academic.
How do I pay?
Before editing begins, we will send you an invoice for the entire fee (inclusive of VAT). Invoices must be settled through bank transfer. In exceptional cases, we accept cheques.
How quickly can you turn my document around?
We are an author services firm with a difference. As such, we do not like to promise lightning-fast turnaround times, for these services imply (more often than not) a poorer, rushed editing job. We can, of course, accommodate tighter deadlines. Let us know your time constraints or deadline in your project enquiry.
Do you have a pricing guide?
Please enquire for a pricing menu. At Lex Academic, we believe in providing a bespoke service befitting the unique requirements of your manuscript. This begins with, and is informed by, a discussion about your work and publication ambitions. For this reason, our prices are merely indicative.
Is it OK if my university pays for the proofreading?
It is common for university departments to have funding allocated so that PhD students may get their theses professionally proofread. Many of our clients have had their PhD editing paid for by their home institution. You will want to enquire with the relevant administrator in your department or faculty.
